Atlanta 2012
We are very excited to announce that the Beyond Conference this year will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on the 20-22 April 2012.
Featuring Neil van Niekerk ….well known for his amazing images and ability to teach/train photographers in lighting, it is an honor and a privilege to be able to learn from such a respected industry professional. Neil will be teaching small groups in the art of lighting but also discuss business, marketing, etc.
Amanda Andrews is a busy mom of 5 but also a professional photographer who has a distinctive style, which has been published in magazines, as well as being a featured photographer on the very popular Framed TV series.
Stay tuned for the outline of their teaching schedules! Neil will be teaching TWO one day workshops – each with 15 participants so bookings for this Conference are limited to just 30 seats, allowing you to get the best opportunity to learn / ask questions and practice …..returning home to incorporate new ideas / processes into your portfolio.
Both of these extremely talented Photographer’s has a unique style but the one thing they have in common is their ability to produce stunning images that sell. The other thing we LOVE about these photographer’s is their willingness to share, to want to help photographer’s capture amazing images and run successful businesses. The Beyond Forum has experienced their “open book” philosophy, and we are so excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to experience a weekend of training, sharing, experience and FUN with them.
This is your chance to learn from amazing photographer’s, over three days, at an incredible price. Teaching includes on-location, natural light, supplemented lighting, – off-camera flash, shooting time, question/answer sessions, critique of your images, posing, creating a connection between you and your clients. Locations for shoots will be both urban and indoor, with shoots taking place in the amazing Atlanta DownTown area, as well as at the hotel. Amanda will be working with the Group A on Day One, while Neil will be working with Group B. Saturday will be the opposite, and Saturday night will be an opportunity for all attendees to shoot with Neil on-location, with the Atlanta Skyline using off-camera lighting. Sunday will be Q&A as well as Neil & Amanda answering questions on marketing/business etc and Neil will be doing another presentation.
Accommodation is at the Hyatt Atlanta, Breakfast, Lunch/Brunch and Breaks are all included in the price, as is a Shared Twin Room for two nights. The hotel has just had a 65 million upgrade and is beautiful….perfect shooting location and heaps to do and shoot just outside it’s door as well.
Dinner for Friday and Saturday night is NOT included this time, but we will be doing a group booking at two unique restaurants since the Hyatt is in the DownTown section of Atlanta and surrounded by awesome eateries. This allows for those that eat a “little” to pay “little” and those that want to eat the full experience, to pay a reasonable price for it ….we will ensure the restaurant booked caters for all tastes and is a reasonable price. Menu’s will be emailed to all booked attendees, so you can make “rough” decisions on what you are having on each night, since we will be shooting on the Saturday evening with Neil and a Model.
Groups are being broken into two groups of 15….one with Amanda and one with Neil….so that you can learn easily, ask questions and not have to wait long times for the use of strobes, etc. Sunday is a full group day, as is Friday and Saturday nights.
Other bits and pieces: Airport is only 15 mins away and is only $2-50 via the Marta line to get to the hotel…..
Sunday morning will be a later start because of late Saturday night shoot with the city as a backdrop, so large brunch will be provided, then a snack break early afternoon for those that need to leave for airport.
Conference runs from Friday 20th April 2012 at 10am until Sunday 22nd April at 3pm
COST: $940 per person
….paid in a 50/50 split…..50% now to admin@beyondjustimages.com (please elect to pay the fees OR add 3% to your payment), and 50% balance due 1st March 2012. NO refunds will be given, but if for any reason you decide to not attend (and why would you???!!!!!) you are welcome to sell your spot.
There are only 30 SPOTS, and I’m sorry we can’t take even one more person as both Neil and Amanda only teach in small groups….so 15 is there absolute max. Registration will be CLOSED as soon as the spots are filled, and no prior warning will be given. Don’t delay! Book NOW!

Some notes: If you register and then are unable to attend, you may ’sell’ your spot, but please notify us first and ensure you are selling your seat to someone that meets the “rules” as laid out here, we will need to pre-approve such transfer. If you are unable to sell your spot, your deposit will NOT be refunded. Please do not ask us to do so.

What to Bring (basic outline)
Camera and favorite lens/es & Memory cards, etc, pocket wizards or radio poppers if you have them and your flash, pocket wizards.
Pen & Paper!
Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for urban and indoor teaching. Headshots of attendees are offered on Sunday….chance to update your profile picture!
Enthusiam, expectation of a great time and an open mind to learn new things!
Attendees are required to have a working knowledge of their camera equipment.
